BJJ Escapes Workshop
The Art of Escaping Bad Positions
I will be hosting a Jiu Jitsu workshop on Saturday April 22nd, 2017 from 2-4pm.
The focus of the training will be on North-South defense and escapes. It is a two-hour intensive and will contain quality information along with reps and drills to help retain and absorb the info. In this session, you will be training with fellow practitioners that have the utmost desire to never be stuck on the bottom. Please bring your notebook, water bottle, extra t-shirt for after training, and a towel. Be prepared to sweat. Cost is $40, paid to the Front Desk before training begins.
When an opponent circles your head to get to North-South position, they gain more leverage and a plethora of submission attacks. This puts you in a more vulnerable position to tap. If you are not sure how to escape this tough position and just “hope to get out”, you are in trouble. To keep your composure on the bottom, you need to trust your Jiu Jitsu and have confidence that you will get out.
To build the confidence that you will get out, we practice a system of escapes that will confuse your opponent and break their composure, making your escape even more powerful. In this workshop, we will focus on an introduction and beginning of a systematic, methodical way to turn the tables on your attacker.
By repping and drilling these escape techniques and concepts, you will take a big jump in your skill level in the art of escaping bad positions. Come check it out!
