Kids Learn Leadership
We had a blast working with the kiddos on Goal Setting, Anti Bullying, and Self Defense techniques and strategies in our Kids Leadership Workshop on Saturday, May 27, 2017. The message that we wanted to send across; “Chase your dreams, follow your passion and don’t let anything get in your way.”
Goal Setting for Kids
Step one: We had kids thinking about what they want and desire. We had the kids put some thought into what gets them excited. Dream Big. Step two: We worked with the kids on creating a plan with action steps that can help make dreams come true. We talked about consistency, dedication, and work ethic. Be action oriented and work hard for what you want.
It was great seeing the boys and girls get pumped talking about things that make them feel good. Some of the kids want to be doctors, others want to be singers. Some of the kids said they just want to be good people.
Goal Setting is a science that takes many years to master. Goal Setting can be an invaluable tool that can help people pursue their dreams and make dreams come true. At the Kids Leadership workshop, I feel that we were successful in introducing to the boys and girls some concepts and principals on Goal Setting that they can grasp, and make it something that can work for them.
Anti-Bullying for kids and parents
Another topic we worked on at the Kids Leadership Workshop, was dealing with the Bully issues that so many kids and parents face. We went over strategy, tactics and perspectives on this prevalent subject.
Dr. Eric Beam; Educational Psychologist / School Administrator, talked with parents about various perspectives, identifying Anti-Bullying situations, and steps that they can take to remedy problematic or potential issues. Dr. Beam also worked with the kids at identifying and distinguishing different levels of Bullying and teasing. We worked with kids on how to handle potential issues as well as identifying situations that can grow into problems that can cause harm or danger.
We worked with kids on common self-defense scenarios in case they are physically attacked and how to get out of bad positions. In the workshop, we had kids as young as 3 and it was great to see the older kids working and helping the young ones along.
We, Dr. Beam, Kidd Grubbs, and myself, were extremely honored and pleased to work with kids on topics that can help them to become outstanding leaders in our community. There are so many subjects to learn when it comes to Leadership that it is our sincere hopes, that people will continue to study on how to be a great leader and set the example for others to follow.
