Family Jiu Jitsu
I am an active duty Marine, and I had an awesome experience watching my children develop over the last two years with Excel Jiu Jitsu. My father and grandfather both grew living as Military dependents traveling around and living with the stressors that come with the lifestyle. During that time they both participated in Martial Arts, which helped them grow as individuals.
This is why I chose Martial Arts for my children. I spent some time searching for a gym/ Dojo, which is how I found Excel Jiu Jitsu.
My son Nozo who is 10 and my daughter Yume who is 15, started BJJ a year and a half ago with absolutely no experience.
Kids learn BJJ
My daughter Yume has excelled rapidly in the year and half. When she started, she had no basic understanding of Martial Arts. Within four months, she able to compete at an in house competition, receiving first place. After that, she went on to win 1st Place at SUBCON and USBJJA. Now she’s aspiring to be an MMA fighter, because Excel Jiu Jitsu offers other types of fighting styles that allow kids to choose.
My son Nozo has had the same experience, starting from no experience to winning in local tournaments. His largest accomplishment of all is that his discipline and focus has improved tremendously with training. Both my children have learned what hard work and dedication can lead to, and I believe that these values they learned will help them with other aspects in life.
Jiu Jitsu for Kids
Excel Jiu Jitsu’s atmosphere is amazing. There ability to coach, teach and mentor children is above and beyond my expectations. This is no day-care type of setting but they are open to families. It was a great experience to able to watch my children grow mentally and physically.
The professors and coaches have this unique ability to control the settings around them whether parents are present or not. They are experienced, train the kid to their fullest capabilities, but most important, they are professional they and keep the environment safe.
Good for Marine Families
I have sent 3 Marine families to train here and they all love it and still are active in Jiu Jitsu because of this Academy. As a parent and Marine I have recommended this house to all my friends with children.

Jiu Jitsu Girls
I will always remember the first day of Jiu Jitsu. I immediately loved the idea that Jiu Jitsu does not stereotype the girls and our ability. From a perspective of the people who do not practice Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, it seem as if we only gain physical skills. But that’s not the only thing a person can gain a knowledge of.
Throughout the practices, I started to develop a mental strength not specifically related to just Jiu Jitsu. Since day 1 of Jiu Jitsu, I have changed in a way that builds up my confidence and perspective of life. I became more respectful, committed, and strong as a person.
Benefits of Jiu Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu connected me with a great environment with great people and I recommend to many others especially other girls who are willing to change and influence others.
