Kids Jiu Jitsu San Diego
Today, September 29, 2018, Excel Mixed Martial Arts Academy hosted our Kids In-House Jiu Jitsu tournament that had our young athletes get more ‘competition Jiu-Jitsu’ practice in.
Oceanside Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
We are extremely proud of each and every athlete that stepped up, put it on the line, and battled it out in competition. The benefits of competition, are that every kid, win or lose, learns the values of facing challenges and learning to work through all the stuff that gets in the way of achieving goals and achieving victory.
Awesome job kiddos!
Jiu Jitsu tournaments for kids
Competing in Jiu-Jitsu tournaments is a definite measure of where athletes, young and old, can gauge their progress in how they put together functional BJJ. It’s one thing to help each other in practice, to learn BJJ, and it’s a another thing to go against someone in a timed match, where they are ‘not letting’ you, and coming after you.
Every point scored in competition is not given, it’s earned. Every victory is hard fought, and every loss is another learning lesson that helps to build the eventual champion.
Here are some of today’s highlight’s….
We want to give special acknowledgments and thanks to all the parents, families, and friends that made this event possible. So many people benefit from this tournament.
Special thank you Eric Charriere, Melanie Charriere, Kidd Grubbs, Frank White, Chris Duffy, Dr. Eric Beam, David Sanchez = you guys rock!
See everyone at the next event!!
