Martial Blade Concepts Workshop

Coach Daniel Hasbrouck Martial Arts self defense, knife combat, protectionCome join us to familiarize yourself with a weapons based system of self-defense. As a Martial Blade Concepts & Counter Blade Concepts (MBC&CBC) practitioner, one will understand the most important concept of self-defense: Ranging.

This is the practice of putting yourself in the correct position in relation to your opponent.

Self Defense

In a self-defense situation one needs to understand the idea mainly to not be in the wrong place at the wrong time.  Studying a weapons based system makes a practitioner pick up this concept in a quicker manner.  MBC & CBC creates an interesting learning methodology by allowing your opponent to receive instant positive or negative feedback with your training partner.

The other aspect of MBC & CBC is its simplicity.   With understanding the core technique and applying it to all four defensive zones, it makes self-defense easily obtained.

“I fear the man who’s practiced one kick ten thousand times than the one who’s practiced ten thousand kicks one time.”
–Bruce Lee

I have adopted this quote to be the foundation of my martial arts training.

Martial Arts

Sure it’s fun showing off to your friends what you can do, but how effective are you in defending your life.  Some of the best wrestlers in the world have only five techniques.  They only practice those five techniques.  They know how to apply those techniques from any angle or position.  They understand the “big” picture and the “little picture.”

I hope this helps you in martial arts training.  Just remember it’s a marathon not a sprint.  It will come, but you’ll have to continue to seek it.
